Doris Sofge
Doris M. Sofge is a multimedia artist who has won many awards in local, regional and national exhibitions. She was selected out of 15,000 entries to be a finalist in “The Artist Magazine National Painting Competition “, was the commissioned artist for the Thermal Ceramics International Conference in Augusta and was featured in the Easy Street magazine and on the cover of the Bell South phone book. Not only is her work in private and corporate collections in the United States, Canada, and Japan, it can also be found in the collection of other artists.
She enjoys the freedom of painting in numerous media and styles. Currently she has taken her art to a higher level bridging the conceptual and the physical in an experimental fashion creating the essence of a personal vision.
Her formal art education began at Florida State University and continued at the University of South Carolina. She has also attended workshops with numerous nationally known artists. She has three limited edition prints, “Survivors”, “Rosemary”,and “Lookaway”, and one digital print entitled “The Feary House” sold in several CSRA art galleries and in the gallery in her home studio in North Augusta.

She is a “Member With Excellence” of the South Carolina Watermedia Society, a member of the Aiken Artist Guild, The North Augusta Artist Guild and served for nine years on the Board of Directors of the North Augusta Cultural Arts Council.
