Marsha Shelburn

On my path from college math major to economics professor and parent, I gradually realized how much I enjoyed art that captures the colors, shapes, and textures that make our world so fascinating. I’ve been painting with oils for twenty-five years, though on a limited basis until recently. My subjects have most often been people in interesting contexts…cafés, beaches, forests, playgrounds, shops, etc. But I will paint anything that interests me…from animals to geothermal areas to vegetables/flowers.

I’ve attended college-level art classes at USCA and William and Mary, and workshops with excellent artists. I’ve twice won the Best of Show Award at Aiken Artist Guild shows and many lesser awards. I’ve been juried into other venues in South Carolina, and my art is in private collections in several states, mostly in the Southeast.

I paint mostly what I enjoy, but I welcome commissions.
