Deidre Hayes
When I began painting in my teens, I took my inspiration from nature, trees, water, and old buildings and farms. I admired the works of Andrew Wyeth, Jim Harrison and Robert Mills. After living in California for 20 years, I grew to love the colors of the west and the deserts. As the light changes, so does what we see. Lately, I have been inspired by Yellowstone. I work in watercolor, acrylic, and monotype inks.
My shell work is mostly nativities and other spiritual motifs. They are composed of SC shells, featuring the lettered olive, driftwood, moss, natural pine or oak wood.
