April 10 until May 19
Reception April 13 from 5pm to 7pm
Aiken Art and Custom Framing
222 Park Ave. SE
I am looking forward to sharing a variety of my works during the upcoming show at Aiken Art and Frame. One in particular is a special painting inspired by a moving story told to me by a friend about two inseparable horses I met during a photo shoot at his farm. His beautiful Arabian mare had never been apart from her look-alike filly since the youngest horse was born. Not too long following my visit, that would change with a sad diagnosis by the vet. The mare had to be euthanized but not until her filly was led to the opposite end of the pasture they had shared for so long. When released, the filly quickly directed her attention to the disturbed soil at the other end and stood there in silence for the remainder of the day.
The painting of these two will be featured during the exhibit and I have titled it Never to Leave. My friend is expected to be at the reception, but is not aware of the work or that I will present him with a Giclee’ of the piece in honor of the close bond the two animals had for each other and the human that cared for them.
I look forward to sharing this and other examples of my work that will include a variety of subjects in either watercolor or colored pencils.
The paintings will be hanging from April 10th until May 19th. There will be a reception April 13th with light refreshments and conversation.
Hope to see all there, April 13th.
